Another old oak has fallen – this one a coast live oak not far from the LATO trail – and now has a new life in the beautiful Mustang trail station. Thanks to a terrific California Conservation Corps crew led by Malinda Winn Shriver and to forklift (and operator Mitch) support provided by Santa Margarita Ranch co-owner Karl Wittstrom, the new station is a wonderful place for trail interpretive talks and activities, e.g. grinding acorns and sampling acorn bread!
